Catalyst was engaged to design new office buildings for tenants, the Ministry of Social Development and Oranga Tamariki, in Te Awamutu

The Ministry of Social Development building is a modern office space located in the heart of Napier, with an eye-catching location visible from the town centre. It will be occupied by Oranga Tamariki and Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities, and will span three levels, with dedicated car parking available on the ground floor and basement.

In 2016, the Kaikoura Earthquake forced Crombie Lockwood out of their office space, leaving them in a temporary workspace. However, they wanted to make this space their permanent workplace.

Catalyst architecture was enlisted to upgrade and refurbish Repton House, a student dormitory at Rathkeale College in Masterton, New Zealand. The school, which is part of a group of three Trinity Schools affiliated with the Anglican Church, needed a modern living space for its male students. Repton House, in particular, required similar upgrades to those of Cranleigh House, which was previously renovated in 2009.

Rathkeale College's auditorium was closed in May 2019 due to its classification as earthquake-prone after an initial seismic assessment. Catalyst was brought on board as project managers and architects to lead the effort to reopen the auditorium as soon as possible while keeping the administration end of the building operational.

Linden School, faced with typical budget constraints of small schools, required a significant renovation to address weathertightness issues. Catalyst collaborated with the MOE delivery team, demonstrating a commitment to overcome these financial challenges.
