Project Information
Multinational organisation established in 1978, Servcorp, engaged Catalyst Group to complete the fit-out of their new office in Auckland, New Zealand. The iconic building that used to house Ports of Auckland at 139 Quay st, Princess Wharf was chosen because of its prime location and magnificent unobstructed views of the harbour and city.

Having previously completed Servcorp’s Wellington office in the prestigious Bell Gully building, with similar project parameters just 5 months earlier, Catalyst were delighted to bring their Auckland fit-out to life. Our Auckland team collaborated closely with our Wellington branch to ensure all key lessons learned from our Wellington Servcorp project were considered and material selections were implemented.
Catalyst delivered this 1200sqm space within a 12-week programme with 4 weeks lead in time, delivering over 60 private office suites, a large boardroom, collaboration space, and kitchen. On a restricted timeframe with only 16 weeks allocated for relocation from Servcorp’s existing location, this project was no easy feat. The success of this project was attributed to Catalyst’s extensive and proactive pre-construction planning ahead of commencement of the construction phase, allowing for no disruption to be caused to tenants and lease dates to be abided.
Despite challenges with building access, navigating the load in and out of a stairwell up 8 floors or single no goods lift, material shortages and long lead times, Catalyst encountered unforeseen discoveries across the ceilings scope resulting in direct impacts to the project scope, programme, and budget, all mitigated with minimal impact to the client.
Catalyst applied our typical pragmatic approach to addressing these obstacles finding suitable alternatives procuring materials early and working closely with our trusted sub-contractors enabling any programme and/or budget impact. In addition, Catalyst maintained a close working relationship with Servcorp’s design and procurement teams, throughout all stages of the delivery who despite being based in Australia, ensured such issues/risks were realised in adversely affecting the project.
Servcorp are delighted with the outcome that resulted from the tight-knit collaboration between us, delivering yet again another complex project on tight timeframe. Most importantly, Catalyst enabled Servcorp to realise their vision; a first-class fit-out for their staff and clientele on time and in budget.
