A Remuera gem gets a new look
Remuera's prestige apartment building still standing strong after great face lift
We were engaged to start works for Level 15 in 2016 when council had issued a NTF for the balcony balustrade re-construction to the existing tenant. We were then engaged to provide architectural services for the top level in-order to make it compliant with council regulations.
After providing documentation for the building consent, the relationship continued and we were engaged to do the Quality Programme for this level of the building until the whole job was complete.
It was an successful project and subsequently, the Body-Corp invited us to do the re-cladding for the whole building in 2017/2018. We then extended our professional service to include the architectural documentation for the construction of the lift shaft and exterior wall cladding on the Northern side of the building.
This external façade was cladded with new aluminium joinery and Symonite external cladding product and this has improved the use of the building space as well as external look of it immensely. We are very proud of this finished product with the amount of time and budget for this project and this has been an important recladding experience for our project records. We were told that some of the tenants were selling their apartment after the re-cladding with a very attractive value for their individual apartment.
The main complexities with this project was the high importance level, height, wind pressure and seismic constrain.
