Gina Jones

Gina is a revered presence in New Zealand’s Architecture community with an extensive multi award-winning career.

Joining Catalyst in 2017, bringing with her over three decades of experience, including running her own architecture firm for 22 years.

She has worked on a variety of projects, with a focus including education, commercial, heritage, structural and seismic remediation. Being the Lead Architect of her development and construction projects, Gina is one of the most accomplished design and project manager professionals in New Zealand. With extensive knowledge of council and Resource Management Act, her extensive expertise provides her with the knowledge to tackle any project and have solutions already to hand.

Gina is a Registered Architect and current Chair of the New Zealand Registered Architects Board and the former Chair of the New Zealand Institute of Building (NZIOB) Charitable Trust. She was awarded the prestigious NZIOB Medal in 2009. She was also the inaugural National President of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) and the only female president of the New Zealand Institute of Building (NZIOB). Gina has taught the postgraduate Professional Practice at Victoria University of Wellington’s School of Architecture and has deepened her governance capability by completing several Institute of Directors (IoD) training courses.
