Through in-depth engagement we gain an understanding of you and your business by engaging with different levels within the organisation (vertical and horizontal). We drive the change management process and will bring your entire team along for the journey. The first phase is the established meeting to understand the project key drivers, outputs and to critically examine how these interact with each other, and their impact on the work environment. We subsequently design strategies to provide more efficient ways of working while determining the process that suits you.

The next step is to gather requirements. This phase can be as in-depth as you require to meet your needs. We offer the option to carry out online surveys – this helps us understand the space required to support the way you work now or in the future, gain an understanding of any challenges or issues and gives all staff a platform to be involved in the process. We can carry out utilisation studies to gather tangible data to inform the design requirements. For example, people often feel a strain from not having enough meeting rooms available. Through the utilisation study we have found that often large rooms are being used for just 1-2 people or that meeting rooms are free at off peak times. This can inform us in recommending small room sizes to suit and often introduce a room booking system to help efficiently manage room availability. This helps us learn how many people are actually in the office and using the desks over a five day period to help recommend desk ratios.

We find participants made up of a cross section of representatives is a great way to get engagement with a broad scope of views. Workshops allow us to table new ideas and ways of working to open their eyes to opportunities. Teasing out issues and challenges is really valuable in informing the strategy. We then develop design strategies to provide more efficient ways of working to help streamline your business outputs

Once we have been fully immersed into your business we overlay our knowledge and experience with our findings to customise a design brief/workplace strategy to support your requirements. This includes the workplace vision, recommendations on how to work and the technology that supports this. It includes a detailed spatial budget which can then be used to inform any test fits in the premises selection phase.
